7-11 Bicycle/Hiking Trail goes from Vancouver to Surrey

7-11 Bicycle/Hiking Trail goes from Vancouver to Surrey

I didn't know until recently that there is a complete trail that goes from Vancouver's Main Street Station all the way to Surrey, following the Skytrain route.

My friend Heidi and I were visiting from Germany and we took two electric bikes through this 7-11 Bike Trail from Science World to Metrotown first. It took only 20 minutes, which is almost as fast as a car.

From Metrotown Shopping Centre (Burnaby, BC) to New Westminster took another 25 minutes, including stops at a nice health food store, called, "Choices", which was right on the trail itself.

The air is clean and green on this 7-11 Bike/Hike Trail. For our review, we rate the 7-11 Trail as an "excellent" recreation trail. I don't think there are any other reviews or trail reports of this particular trail on the 'net.

The only negative was the "washboard" condition of some parts of the trail. Cyclists should wear padded bike shorts.

A free hardcopy of the trail (one sheet) can be obtained by mail, by phoning the 7-11 Head Office [in Vancouver, I think] or by emailing. Sorry, I don't have any names or phone numbers.

Too bad there aren't any online maps of this trail.
